The Design 1 students have been using surrealist techniques to create their work. The Exquisite Corpse is created by folding the paper three times. Each artist draws a different section of the body.

Design is Serious

This week in class the students redesigned the icons for our class attendance sheet. In Design 1 we take time seriously.

Design is Funny

Last week for homework I xeroxed various sized cartoon eyes for my students. I asked them to place the eyes on found objects and photograph the results.

Bananas and Post its

There are post its everywhere. No surface is left uncovered. Today in class one of the students covered a banana covered in post its.

Pixel characters

Following the alphabet. For homework last week. I gave asked the students to create characters using graph paper. Then I asked them to enlarge their design and put them on the walls with the post its.

Post It Type

Today my Design students were given Post it notes to create type. Their letters covered the walls, windows, recycling bins, doors, vending machine. It was an inspiring class.
